About US Reception Bell

The Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association (HSMA) was established in 1972 by a group of dedicated sales and marketing professionals who recognised the need to introduce networking and education programs to Australia.

The association prides itself on recognising every sales and marketing person as in integral part of the ultimate hospitality industry success and encourage tourism and hospitality excellence.

HSMA activities include:

  • Industry voice to lobby on policy affecting the industry


Aims & Objectives

To encourage and foster high standards of professional conduct and sound business practice for everyone engaged in hospitality and tourism sales, marketing, publicity, public relations, advertising and management.

To provide a forum for exploration and development of critical issues, emerging trends and new opportunities and an arena for discussion and action.

To provide leadership and facilitate co-operation within the tourism industry by working in conjunction with educational institutions, peak industry bodies and others, including accommodation providers, travel agents, restaurants, attractions, and the MICE sector in order to conduct workshops, meetings and seminars of interest and benefit to members.

To co-operate with the national and regional tourism bodies at all times in the promotion, expansion, development and improvement of the hospitality industry.

To ensure the continuing development of the Association in order to better meet the needs of members and assist them in achieving their professional goals.
